March 2024 Classes at Tynkertopia

Because of Spring Break and makeup classes due to snow in early February, our classes for March will take place the weeks of March 18th and 25th..

Descriptions of all classes, hours, age requirements, and class fees are listed below.  We are excited to offer these STEAM learning opportunities to area children, youth and adults. Please arrive at least five minutes before classes begin.

We reserve the right to cancel classes with less than 3 registrants.

  • Slime Making Workshop 
    • Dates: March 26
    • Time: 4 – 4:30 PM
    • Class Fee: $5
    • Intended Audience: 1st – 6th Grade Students
    • Instructor: Dr. Alice Christie, Tynkertopia Founder
    • Description: Experience the ultimate slime crafting adventure. Learn how to make your own slime from scratch using Elmer’s Glue, baking powder, an activator, and your imagination.


  • Creative Paper Crafts
    • Dates: March 20 and 27
    • Time: 4 – 5 PM
    • Class Fee: $20
    • Intended Audience: 1st – 6th grade students
    • Instructor: Anna Begay, Tynkertopia Employee
    • Description: Bring your imagination and creativity and use any paper available at Tynkertopia to create a Blooming Bud Wreath, a Prince or Princess Crown, a Tooth Fairy Box, or a Stained Glass Sun Catcher. All materials provided by Tynkertopia.


  • Beginning Cooking
    • Dates: March 21, 28
    • Time: 4 – 5 PM
    • Class Fee: $20
    • Intended Audience: 1st – 6th Grade Students
    • Instructor: Jenna Papai, Tynkertopia Director
    • Description: During this class, we will prepare, cook, and eat a delicious and nutritious snack or mini meal. All materials and food provided by Tynkertopia.


  • Take Apart and Peek Inside
    • Dates: March 22, 29
    • Time: 4 – 5 PM
    • Class Fee: $15
    • Intended Audience: 2nd – 12th Grade Students
    • Instructor: Ward Davis, Retired Engineer, and Tynkertopia Volunteer
    • Description: Each week, participants will use the Tynkertopia workshop and tools to take apart computers, laptops, cell phones, hard drives, and a variety of other electronic devices to learn about how each device works. When possible, they will repair the device so it can be repurposed.


      • Creative Movement for PK–K Students
        • Dates: March 23, 30
        • Time: 10:15 – 11:00 AM
        • Class Fee: $15
        • Intended Audience: Children Aged 3 – 6 Years
        • Instructor: Jenna Papai, Tynkertopia Director
        • Description: Explore movement and music while nurturing creativity and developing physical skill, grace and agility.
      • Lego Club
        • Dates: March 23, 30
        • Time: 2 – 3 PM
        • Class Fee: $15
        • Intended Audience: Kindergarten – 5th Grade Students
        • Instructor: Carly Smith, Tynkertopia Employee
        • Description: LEGO Club helps kids enhance their engineering skills and creativity. This class will inspire participants’ imaginations and challenge their minds.
