Advisory Board Member Sheryl Wells

Sheryl Wells

Sheryl Wells has enjoyed working at W.F. Killip Elementary School for over 20 years. While teaching first and second grade, she engaged her students in STEAM activities before knowing the acronym. This is her third year as the STEM Coordinator and her fifth year as Killip’s Technology Integration Coach. She loves assisting students with communicating, collaborating, being creative, and using critical thinking skills as they use STEM throughout the day and various subject areas. In 2019, she assisted Killip staff, students, families, and community members in the process of achieving Cognia STEM Certification for Killip.

Mrs. Wells is proud to partner with Tynkertopia in various ways to support STEAM opportunities for Killip students and young people all over Flagstaff. During the 2020 Flagstaff Festival of Science, Mrs. Wells, along with Killip’s library media specialist and STEM AmeriCorps service members, helped Tynkertopia create 700 engineering bags to hand out to Flagstaff youth. She also assists Tynkertopia in passing out STEAM Kits at Killip each Friday along with food boxes from the Flagstaff Family Food Center mobile pantry program.
